iOS 9 beta on the Apple iPad 2 GSM

iOS 9 beta on the Apple iPad 2 GSM

Here is a look at the 2011 Apple iPad 2 GSM running iOS 9 beta. Yes the mighty Apple iPad 2 can run iOS 9 in 2015 which is amazing. But it does come at a cost.

You might not notice that in the video but the iPad 2 is having a hard time running iOS 9, after all the iPad 2 has only 512 MB of RAM which is really not a lot by todays's standards.

If you run only one Application that's fine, but I don't expect any of you doing that, don't you switch from one the App to the other without closing it? even in Safari between tabs, it keeps reloading the page once you switch from one tab back to the other and that's because it's low on memory.

Launching apps could take 20-30 seconds and that's because it takes a long time loading the data required to run the application. Even with Apple apps, as illustrated in the video, the AppStore takes a long time to load.

Sure iOS 9 continues the support and in the coming months a lot of applications will probably start supporting iOS 9 and up, but it's about time we give the iPad 2 a break. I mean come on, Apple should have left it at iOS 6 where it was running with its glory.

Anyway, for those who would like the upgrade, why not? iOS 9 is not made for the iPad 2. Period! it's made for the new devices. You should retire your iPad 2 with iOS 8 at the most (disabling transparency and all kinds of settings so it could run).

I cannot find a reason why to upgrade, even new features are not supported (like PIP and etc...)

Conclusion: stay away and if you have it running iOS 7 or 8, you might want to downgrade it to iOS 6. YES, YOU CAN. ----> HERE <----
