Which Roku should you get? LT? HD? 2 XD? or 2 XS?
Lets talk about each one of them, then I will tell you my opinion and it's up to you to choose one of them.
LT: it does come in purple only which is a unique color in my opinion, unlike the standard black, it does share in common with all models that it has 600+ channels, one-stop search, works with any TV (HDTV or SDTV) because it has both HDMI and AV out, the wireless module is b/g/n compatible, and it plays 720p only, 1080p is not supported.
But who needs the 1080p? 720p is more than enough, trust me.
& it comes with the bluetooth Remote Control, which is a great feature since you can hide your Roku in a drawer and still be able to control it.
The Remote does not have a built in motion sensor or gaming buttons for gaming.
HD: it does come in black only, it does share in common with all models that it has 600+ channels, one-stop search, works with any TV (HDTV or SDTV) because it has both HDMI and AV out, the wireless module is b/g/n compatible, and it plays 720p only, 1080p is not supported.

N.B. Both models the Roku LT and the Roku HD are identical, except for the price point where the HD is 10$ or 10GBP more expensive.
so, if i were you, i wouldn't look at the HD at all. why pay 10$/GBP more for the color?
2 XD: it does come in black only, it does share in common with all models that it has 600+ channels, one-stop search, works with any TV (HDTV or SDTV) because it has both HDMI and AV out, the wireless module is b/g/n compatible, and it plays 720p & 1080p.

2 XS: it does come in black only, it does share in common with all models that it has 600+ channels, one-stop search, works with any TV (HDTV or SDTV) because it has both HDMI and AV out, the wireless module is b/g/n compatible, and it plays 720p & 1080p.

it comes with Ethernet port for direct connection to your wireless modem & it does have a USB port for direct play media from a USB flash memory.
Free angry birds game is also included with the 2 XS.
The Remote has a built in motion sensor & gaming buttons for gaming.
All models have a free iOS app that can control the device via bluetooth.
in All models you need to subscribe for Netflix, hulu plus & amazon prime to enjoy new contents.
bottom line: if you need the gaming for your kids get the 2 XS because it's the only one that has a gaming remote, but a gaming remote can be sold separately and you can connect it to any Roku.
if you need the Ethernet port then get the 2 XS because it's the only model with the feature. the USB port is useless because it only plays mp4 format.
the best value for the money is the LT. I would get the LT if I wanted to save money and to enjoy a great media streaming device.
